Bodega San Marcos

Sociedad Cooperativa San Marcos de Almendralejo is a company dedicated to the manufacturing and bottling of young and matured wines.

It is located in Almendralejo “International City of Wine”, in the province of Badajoz, in the south-west of Spain and belongs to the celebrated D. O. Ribera del Guadiana in the sub-zone “Tierra de Barros”.

It was founded in 1980 and it is formed by 300 farmers who, being the owners of the company, harvest the grape with care, always under the monitoring, management and control of the winery specialists, and contribute to the quality of the grape.

Bodega San Marcos counts on professionals in wine-making who take care of the wine since the moment that the grape come into the winery, to give them the touch needed and to refine and polish them up to get the maximum quality for the customer. This way, our wines have received different awards.
In the same way, in order to get those quality levels, the winery has the last technology related to facilities and make efforts to achieve large-scale investments to optimise and control in detail the evolution of the wines.

In another hand, from the Export Department our products are being distributed in the whole Europe and the rest of the world. Nowadays we are represented in several countries like Germany, Denmark, Netherlands, Belgium, Ireland, Portugal, United Kingdom, Sweden, Norway, Switzerland, Canada or U. S. A.

Finally, in order to guarantee the company procedure and reflect the quality image pursued in both, product and customer service, Cooperativa San Marcos is certified in the ISO9002 and it’s been the first winery in Spain in getting the BRC (British Retail Consortium) Certificate.
