Profile:
At the steep slopes of the Rhein valley, the Black Forest offers ideal soil and climate conditions for Riesling. The village Varnhalt, 5 kilometers from Baden-Baden, is situated in a steep valley, boarded by vineyards and chestnut trees. The cultivation area "Klostergut Fremersberg Feigenwäldchen" is one of the best Riesling areas of Baden and is owned exclusively by the WG Varnhalt.
We are a cooperative of 75 winegrowers that cultivates a surface of 86 hectars. Our fruity Riesling wines are famous. The grapes are harvested selectively by hand in up to 4 different steps by our members. Afterwards, the grapes are carefully processed by us to make an outstanding wine.
