DAGELIR S. A. is a Uruguayan Business with domestic stocks started in 2002, which manufactures bones for dogs and its by-products. It is the main manufacturer in the country in this field.

It is located in the province of Colonia, Uruguay, which is a well known region for the good quality of its cattle as well as its leather production.

Although bones for dogs are a commodity in the international market, Dagelir, due to its manufacturing procedures and its modern technology , is placed at the top quality level.

Production Process

The raw material is rawhide cattle leather that comes from Tanneries which do not use contaminating products.

The leather is received at the factory an then, it is classified and washed with degreasers and detergents.

After that, it is bleached with Hydrogenated Peroxide to make sure that complete disinfection is obtained.

The next step is to pass the leather through rolling presses in order to dry it, and after that, it is cut according to the different sizes.

Then the bones are hand shaped with tie knots in both ends and finally they are dried in specially designed furnaces during 4 to 5 days.

At present, our Company would be able to guarantee a delivery of 24 CTM / year of chewing raw-hide bones, as a young and small family industry born in 2002. However, we are running right now an investing project as to enlarge the plant and duplicate our production capacity in the near future.
