WINEMAKER NOTES:

The vineyards south and east of the Sacramento Delta region are blessed with the moderate nights and warm days that allow a slow even development of fruit flavor and character. The balance of acidity with fruit ripeness is our goal. Rolling hills provide for some
variation and complexity in fruit as well. These vineyard soils are primarily of red clay with some rocky & gravelly areas.
Warm conditions during the 2003 late summer extended the ripening season, resulting in balanced flavors, ripeness and crisp white wines. We enhanced color and flavor extraction by utilizing cold fermentation and innerstave contact. We declined the use of malolactic fermentation so the acidity remained firm and crisp, thus the ability to combine well with a variety of dishes.
Tasting Notes: Enticing aromas of lemon & peach, with nuances of apple. Medium bodied with a supple finish, this Chardonnay marries beautifully with seafood. The exotic fruitiness of this wine with the addition of the Sonoma Coast Viognier makes it an excellent compliment to spicy dishes from Asia and Latin America.
