CATALASE---ENZYME TREATMENT

In cotton dyeing industry, cotton is bleached by hydrogen peroxide before dyeing. The residual hydrogen peroxide often causes the trouble in dyeing process, e. g. unleveling, reduction of color shade.
CATALASE is a concentrated liquid enzyme treatment. CATALASE effectively catalyzes the transformation of residual hydrogen peroxide into oxygen and water. The product is hydrogen peroxide specific and will not interfere with dyestuffs.
ADVANTAGES:
Eliminates residual hydrogen peroxide while reducing water consumption. Enzyme and breakdown products have no effect dyestuffs.
Broad effective pH and temperature range.
Reduced dye preparation time.
Completely biodegradable.
GENERAL PROCEDURE GUIDELINES:
1. Drain the bleaching liquor bath.
2. Refill the bath with fresh water using desired temperature and liquor ratio for subsequent dyeing.
3. Check to make sure that the pH of the bath is in the range of 6 to 8. The temperature should be below 50°C.
4. Add 0.1 to 0.4 g/l CATALASE and began circulation.
5. After a ten to twenty minute period, test for residual hydrogen in the bath. If hydrogen peroxide still remains, wait 5 to 10 minutes and retest.
6. Once the elimination of hydrogen peroxide has been determined, begin the dyeing procedure in the same bath liquor.
