Cricket Ball

In All SAWNII top grade balls Alum tined leather is used. All first grade cricket balls are made from the butt portion of the leather. The butt portion is subjected to traditional Alum tanning process which promotes resistant grain enamel whilst tightening the fibrous structure of the leather. Coloured variations, scratch marks and other leather imperfections are characteristics of natural hides. SAWNII’s do not try to hide them with paint or coloured lacquer. The leather is then dipped into a mixture of oil and chemicals to make it water proof and for its long life. The wet leather is then stretched till it dies as shown in fig3. This is done so that ball does not change its shape while it is used
