EARRINGS

The art of weaving the “Caña Flecha” (Arrow Cane) is a Precolombian tradition and it is carried out by the Zenú tribe, which lives in the northern regions of Córdoba and Sucre in Colombia. It is their legacy and also their main source of income.

The women are in charge of the tainting of the fiber with natural plants, the braid and the manual seam; whereas the men cultivate the Caña Flecha (Cane Arrow) and they are in charge of shingling the cane, the handling of seaming machines and the commercialization of the finished product. Up to 10 members of a same family will participate in the growing, preparation, tainting, braiding and seaming of the Caña Flecha.
