Constant velocity (CV) joints use an inner race, outer race and balls to transmit torque. Joints can transmit power at up to a 30° angle depending on the application. There are two types of CV joints: disc and bell. Disc joints are used in industrial applications while bell joints are used in off-road vehicles. Joints can be sized to handle a wide range of torques from 169 ft-lb (229 Nm) to 29,525 ft-lb (40,027 Nm) .
