Tapping this prodigious source, Celebes established its first banana chips plant in 1986. A thriving demand saw the rise of the second plant in General Santos City in 1988 and soon, a third plant in 1990, in Tagum City. The three plants have a current output of 90 x 20-feet containers per month.

With the world’s growing fascination for tropical food, including snacks, Celebes sees a consistent growth in the demand for its banana chips. The rise in sales is further fueled by consistent nutrition findings that even processed banana chips is a healthy snack.
