This huge, 21-inch wingspan BIG WINGS series P-38J Lightning airplane model is handcarved from mahogany and hand-painted to represent fighter ace Col. Robin Old's "Scat 2" which he flew over Europe in WW2. With a length of more than 15 inches, this big model of the famous twin-engine fighter is in every respect larger than a regular 1/48 scale P-38 Lightning.

This particular big airplane model is the FIRST model of the FIRST production run of the BIG WINGS series P-38J Lightnings. It is marked accordingly.
