1. Heat Pipe Solar Collector
1.1 Introduction
The heat pipe system consists of the glass vacuum tube and a copper heat pipe which is installed within the glass tube. The copper heat pipe conducts heat from within the vacuum tube to its tip (condenser) which is plugged into the header pipe contained in the manifold. As water runs through the header pipe heat is transferred from the heat pipe condenser to the water.
High heat conduction coefficient: 2000-5000 times of metal materials.
High quantity of heat conduction: 1000 times of metal materials.
Low temperature difference: less than 4° difference in 2 meter long pipe.
Anti-freeze: can work as low as -40oC
