1. The physical chemistry properties of allantoin
The chemical name of allantoin is (2,5-Dioxo-4-imidazolidinyl) urea, CAS No:97-59-6, which is a kind of colorless or white crystal powder. Allantoin has ketonic structure and is odourless. Its melting point is 228-233° (It will decompose) . It does not dissolve in cool water, alcohol, ether and chloroform, and dissolves in hot water and glycerol. Its saturated solution(0.6%) is weak acid(PH=6) . It is stable in PH=4-9 water solution, but it will decompose when boiled in the alkaline solution.

Applications of Allantoin
1. Cosmetics
Allantoin is a fine cosmetics raw material. The cosmetics containing allantoin has the efficacy of smoothing skin, protecting skin, absorbing water and keeping humidity from lost, etc. .
