Onggi is traditional clay pottery fired at 1300 degrees using natural materials. Onggi vessels have good ventilation and maintain a consistent internal temperature. Because Onggi pottery preserves the nutritional qualities and taste of food, traditionally it was used to store of foods such as soybean paste, soybean sauce, thick soy paste mixed with red pepper, and Kimchi. In addition, Onggi pottery allows gases created by fermentation to escape while sealing in unpleasant odors. It also helps purify the food stored in it. Soybean paste, soy sauce, red pepper sauce and Kimchi are well fermented because Onggi is semi-porous.
We reproduced it to small items such as vases, cups, mini jars, dishes, etc. .
