Description: A white crystalline powder.
Pharmacology: HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors have the similar annular or open annular structure as HMG-CoA, which is active after hydrolysis in body. Lovastatin is a specific inhibitor of HMG-CoA reductase, the enzyme which catalyzes the conversion of HMG-CoA to mevalonate. The conversion of HMG-CoA to mevalonate is an early step in the biosynthetic pathway for cholesterol. Lovastatin can increase LDL receptor and elevate its activity when hepatocyte cholesterol concentration is low, and a great deal LDL is taken to reduce the concentration of plasm and LCL-C. Lovastatin can also reduce the synthesis and release of VLDL.
Indications: Lovastatin is used in the treatment of hypercholesterolemia and mixed hyperlipemia.
packing specification: 20Kg / carton barrel.
Storage: In airtight containers , at a temperature below +30, avoiding light.
