One of rosemary's primary actions is that of an anti-inflammatory and tonic, which is thought to be due to combined constituents, including the apigenin, rosmarinic, and ursolic acids. The diosmetin is known to help in strengthening the capillaries, which is valuable in the cardiovascular system, where rosemary is used to improve circulation and raise low blood pressure. This circulatory effect is particularly directed at the circulation to the head, which is thought to contribute to improving the memory and concentration. Rosemary is also used where there is Reynaud's Syndrome, a condition of poor circulation in the hands and feet.
