Coffee has its origins in Africa where the main varieties grown are Arabica and Robusta, and Uganda is blessed to have both all year round.
While the tropical rain forests in Uganda is actually the origin of Robusta coffee; the western slopes of Ugandas Mount Elgon is the growing land for an outstanding Arabica coffee known as Bugisu.
For our roasted coffee product, Uganda Bugisu AA, we use only strictly Bugisu AA, and these top quality beans are grown with absolutely no application of any chemical fertilizers, fungicides nor are pesticides, i. e. the beans are ORGANIC by default.
Uganda Bugisu AA :
- It is the third African single-origin bean discovered that has met the strict Limited Edition criteria set by the American accrediting association, CBI (Coffee Bean International) .
- It is grown at 4,000 feet in elevation blessed with a moderate climate ~ a condition tailored for producing some of the finest coffees in Africa.
- It has been carefully hand-sorted and sized to pass the rigorous AA standard the strictest Arabica grade in the region, and only awarded to a small portion of each years harvest.
- When brewed, it produces a delicious cup . . . some say reminiscent of a fine Kenya AA, but tempered with moderate body and depth of a New Guinea. . . . but actually, it is delightfully so much different !
