New Concept for Document Imaging
Scanners have been used to digitize documents for many years. They are bulky and slow. They cannot meet the demand of today's mobile computing.
DocExpress changes the conventional notions of document imaging. DocExpress is high-speed and portable. It captures documents, photographs or real objects smoothly in one or two seconds. It employs a three million-pixel sensor to guarantee to meet the demand of document imaging. Carrying DocExpress with a notebook PC extends your reach from data processing to document processing. Since there is no contact between documents and DocExpress, the paper jam problem is non-existent. Imaging is not disturbed by the paper quality or thickness.
The camera set is about 420 grams in weight. This enables the dimension the camera stand to be small and the vertical support to be packable. The size of DocExpress when packed is about half of a typical book at around 95mm(L) x 55mm(W) x 160mm(H) . When DocExpress is extended, the camera working distance is around 45cm. A full A4 size document can be captured without optical distortion around edges. The camera head can be set to face downward or to face forward. The data transport speed between DocExpress and its host is at 480 M bits/sec. With this speed, real-time live previewing of the target object on the host screen is feasible. In addition, document alignment widgets are provided at the stand base. With these features, shooting accurately and properly can be done with ease.
